Marblestone™
Marblestone is a recycled natural stone
that has been crushed, pressed, heated, and bonded with a very small amount of resin. Unlike natural stone which is porous, Marblestone is less pervious to moisture which can cause mildew. Marblestone is more resistant to scratches and stains than quarried or cultured marble and does not require special cleaning or polishing. Marblestone is a green material which helps our environment and is not a petroleum rich material such as cultured marble. Marblestone is a material that can be used in a variety of areas. From bathroom counters, shower walls and floors to table tops and wainscoting, Marblestone is the perfect material. Beauty and affordability make Marblestone the perfect choice for your next project.
MARBLESTONE GREEN
Marblestone uses what man throws away from the quarrying of natural marble. The chunks and pieces of stone discarded by quarries are used to create Marblestone. These chunks of natural marble are crushed, ground and mixed with a small amount of polyester resin then compressed and heated.
Marblestone slabs can be defined as composite materials as they are the product of a combination of two or more different raw materials. Composite materials are capable of providing physical and mechanical properties that are superior to the materials in their natural form. This combination of materials allows the product to exploit the best properties of each component material while, at the same time, eliminating their less useful characteristics.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
To clean Marblestone, you need a damp cloth or a damp paper towel. For stubborn spots, a small amount of liquid detergent is sufficient. For extremely difficult stains, mild household cleaners such as Formula 409® may be used without damaging the Marblestone. All cleaner residue must be completely rinsed off to avoid hazing the shine and beauty of the surface. Sealing Marblestone once a year is recommended; any marble sealer available will do. Follow the product's manufacturer instructions when applying.
REMEMBER
As with all marble, Marblestone can be damaged by exposure to acid chemicals and some solvents. Do not use products containing trichlorethane or methylene chloride, these chemicals are used in paint removers or furniture strippers. Avoid chemicals containing high acidity (low pH levels) and organic acids. In the event of accidental exposure to any of these damaging products, thoroughly rinse with water as soon as possible. Do not use abrasive cleansers. Marblestone carries a 10-year warranty on manufacturing defects.
